Women’s Development Forum appoints Dominic Wheatley to board

Dominic WheatleyDominic Wheatley, Chief Executive of Guernsey Finance, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director to the board of the not-for-profit Women’s Development Forum (WDF).

WDF – which has operated in Guernsey for seven years and in Jersey since 2014 – aims to help women in the Channel Islands find greater career success and build network connections.

It began its search for a man to join its board in March, following a decision to change its membership policy to welcome both genders.

Carol Goodwin, Chair of WDF, said: "Not only will Dominic provide thought-provoking diversity to the direction of the Women’s Development Forum, but he will also make a tremendous ambassador for the aims and ambitions of WDF."

Dominic said: "I am honoured to be the first man on WDF’s board. Given the limited supply of key skills across the Channel Islands, it is important to our economies that we maximise the opportunities for all. Encouraging and enabling women to achieve their full potential in the workplace is key realising that objective."
