New appointments at Appleby in Mauritius

Dushyant Ramdhur ApplebyOffshore law firm Appleby has made a number of appointments to its dispute resolution team in Mauritius as well as an internal promotion.

Dushyant Ramdhur (pictured) has joined the firm as a Senior Associate. He practices in the area of corporate and commercial laws, specialising in commercial litigation and advising on matters including insurance, industrial disputes and recovery procedures. His experience includes advising Mauritius-listed and private companies.  

Goolam Calloo joins as a Senior Clerk. Goolam has nearly four decades of experience in the legal profession. He has extensive experience in extra-judicial matters including the drafting of all types of notices, such as the preparation of affidavits of prescription, affidavits of notoriety, applications for legal and judicial mortgage, searches at the office of the Conservator of Mortgages and the Registrar of Companies, and applications for trademarks.

Sharmila Bhima has been with the firm since 2007 and has been promoted to Counsel. She is active on matters relating to international arbitration and formed part of the team that was responsible for opening the London Court of International Arbitration chapter in Mauritius.
