BL54COVER IMAGEThe latest issue of Businesslife – the first edition of 2018 – is now available online.

This issue kicks off the new year by asking nine experts to give a view on the year ahead in their area of expertise – finance, technology, tourism and law. Asked about the challenges and opportunities, many cite Brexit as a major factor – they give their opinion on the effect it may have.

The lead interview in this issue features Paul Luxon, CEO of Condor Ferries, who explains how the past two years have been difficult for his firm, the challenges posed by social media, and how the company is moving forward with new plans.

And technology evangelist Gus Fraser issues a stark warning to the Channel Islands – they will suffer a gradual demise if they don’t get to grips with what technology has to offer.

Nick Kirby, Editor-in-Chief of Businesslife, says: “It’s always fascinating to start the new year with a view on what might happen in the next 12 months. With so much uncertainty – especially around Brexit – it’s good to have clear-headed opinion, and our nine experts provide exactly that.”

Other features in this issue include:
• A ‘Bluffer’s Guide’ to the forthcoming UK bank ringfencing rules
• Financial enforcement and whether it goes far enough
• The opportunities for investing in fine art
• Whether there’s a lack of respect in business
• The rise of augmented reality
• And much more…
