Posted: 12/07/2016

Jersey has signed a comprehensive double taxation agreement (DTA) with the Republic of Cyprus, which marks the island’s 12th DTA to the international standard.

The agreement was signed at the Cyprus High Commission in London by the Minister for External Relations, Senator Sir Philip Bailhache, for the Government of Jersey, and by the High Commissioner, His Excellency Euripides Evriviades, for the Republic of Cyprus.

Senator Bailhache said: "The signing of the DTA with Cyprus continues Jersey’s firm and longstanding commitment to the international standards of transparency and information exchange.

"Jersey also pursues a good neighbour policy in relation to the European Union and we are delighted that, with the signing of this DTA, we will be further strengthening our political and business relationships with an EU member state."
