IoD Young Director of the Year launches Jersey’s first Lean In Circle

Posted: 10/07/2017

Pippa DavidsonPippa Davidson (pictured), Head of Funds at Fairway Group and this year’s IoD Young Director of the Year, is launching Jersey’s first Lean In circle to support women in business.

The initiative was founded following the success of Sheryl Sandberg’s book, Lean in: Women, Work and the Will to Lead – since its launch in 2013, 33,000 Lean In circles have been set up in over 150 countries.

The concept was created to provide women with a forum to support each other. Regular meetings are held to encourage members to take on new challenges and opportunities and to step outside their comfort zones.

Pippa said: “Being named ‘Young Director of the Year’ by the IoD made me reflect on my career and how it has been shaped by mentoring and leadership training.

"I also knew there was an appetite from other female business leaders to offer guidance to women in the workplace and came across Lean In and the amazing initiative and resource the foundation provides.”

The event will take place on Wednesday 19 July, 6-8pm, at CCA Galleries International.

Guest speakers include:
• Rosalyn Breedy, Partner at Wedlake Bell, London
• Charlotte Valeur, Board Apprentice and Director of FTSE250 and LSE listed companies
