The Guernsey Financial Services Commission has published investment fund statistics for the second quarter of 2019. The highlights include the following:
Investment funds – The net asset value of total funds under management and administration has increased in sterling terms during the last quarter by £16bn (5.5%) to £295.9bn. Over the past year, total net asset values increased by £20bn (7.1%).
Open-ended schemes – Within these totals, Guernsey-domiciled open-ended funds increased over the quarter by £4.8bn (11.2%) to £47.3bn, representing an increase of £4.1bn (9.4%) in the past year.
Closed-ended schemes – The Guernsey closed-ended sector increased over the quarter by £6.2bn (3.5%) to £180.4bn, an increase of £12.2bn (7.2%) in the past year.
Non-Guernsey schemes – Schemes for which some aspect of management, administration or custody is carried out in the bailiwick had a net asset value of £68.2bn at the end of the quarter.
