Estera acquires Morgan Sharpe

Posted: 28/02/2017

Fiduciary and administration provider Estera has acquired Guernsey-based fund administration specialist Morgan Sharpe.

The deal was finalised on Monday 27 February and, following regulatory approvals, the business will be rebranded under the Estera name.

The acquisition of the 18-strong Morgan Sharpe team increases Estera’s headcount to 370. All Morgan Sharpe employees have been offered roles within Estera and will continue to work in the Guernsey office.

Morgan Sharpe was established in 2008 by Serena Tremlett and Mel Torode, following the management buyout of Assura Administration. They will remain as Directors of the Guernsey office.

Advisers involved in this transaction were KPMG (financial, regulation, tax/structuring), Appleby (legal) and Travers Smith (legal) for Estera; and Ferbrache & Farrell (legal) for Morgan Sharpe.
