Carey Olsen advises WANdisco on its AIM listing

Carey Olsen has advised WANdisco, a leading provider of global collaboration software to the software development industry, on its recent listing on the London Stock Exchange's AIM.

The group's technology is used by more than 200 customers globally, a number of which are in the US Fortune 100. The offering of the software company, which is headquartered in Sheffield and has operations in Silicon Valley, was significantly oversubscribed raising approximately £15million gross for the group and valuing it at £37million.

Part of the proceeds from the listing are to be used to finance future growth which will include further product development and pursuing market opportunities in the Far East.

Corporate partner Mike Jeffrey (pictured) led the Carey Olsen team that advised on the Jersey aspects of the listing. Mr Jeffrey was assisted by James Willmott, senior associate, and Katherine Alexander, associate. DLA Piper's Sheffield office were principal legal advisers to WANdisco on the flotation.

Mr Jeffrey said: “We are pleased to have been involved in yet another successful flotation. This one was particularly noteworthy due to the rare nature of UK software company flotations and, in spite of the current market conditions, the group's shares were three times over-subscribed.”

Carey Olsen has significant initial public offering (IPO) experience both on AIM and main marketing listings, as well as other international markets.
