The Organisation:
Our client, a market leading offshore law firm, is looking for an Information Security and Data Protection Officer to join their highly respected team.

The Role:
Responsibilities include:
– The successful candidates main responsibility will be to develop, coordinate and manage the Group’s Information security and data protection programmes. To ensure that business practices adhere to all applicable privacy laws, and appropriate security standards.
– To be the point of contact for all issues and relating to information security and data protection.
– To inform and advise the organisation in respect of information security and hold responsibility for developing and managing the Group’s information security strategy and ongoing development programme.
– To be the first point of contact for all information security alerts and breaches and coordinate responses via incident management protocols.
– To inform and advise the organisation in respect of its obligations under the EU GDPR and all current and future legislation and regulation issued by jurisdictions in which the organisation has a presence.
– To monitor and provide supporting management information evidence the organisation’s compliance with he legislation and the organisation’s internal business practices, policies and procedures.

The Person:
You will possess the following key characteristics:
– Ability to work with minimal supervision and to tight deadlines.
– An understanding of business needs and commitment to delivering high-quality, prompt and efficient services to the business.
– Accuracy and Integrity.
– Flexible and ‘can do’ attitude, able to influence decisions and individuals.
– Strong analytical skills with an ability to complete cost benefit analyses and identify and implement solutions.
– An ability to communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing, in an easily-understood, authoritative, and actionable manner.
– Strong, proven stakeholder management skills including the ability to guide and influence members of both committees such as Risk & Compliance and Executive Boards.
– Experience of delivering complex projects and/or contributing to projects at a minimum of work stream leader level.
– At least 5 years’ experience in a relevant Data Protection, or IT/Information Security Role.
– Experience in promoting and managing change throughout an organisation.
– Expertise in complex regulatory and contractual requirements and an ability to create effective compliance systems.
– To hold or be working towards a recognised information security qualification (e.g. – Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
– To hold or be working towards a recognised GDPR Practitioner level qualification.
