The Co-operative Bank, Guernsey Branch

The Commission notes the announcement by the Co-operative Bank plc (the “Co-op Bank UK”) of its intention to close its branch in Guernsey (the “Co-op Bank Guernsey”).

For the sake of clarity, it should be emphasised that the Channel Islands Co operative Society (the “CICS”) is a separate legal entity and is not affected by the planned closure of the Co-op Bank Guernsey.

The Co-op Bank Guernsey maintains facilities in Jersey to allow customers of the Co op Bank Guernsey, or other branches of the Co-op Bank UK, to deposit or withdraw cash from their accounts. No accounts are maintained in Jersey.

The closure of the Co-op Bank Guernsey will be undertaken over the coming months and affected customers will be contacted by the bank shortly. In the meantime, enquiries can be directed to the bank using the following contact details:
