The Forum for Telecom Operators of Small States (Teleforum) has elected Graeme Millar, Chief Executive of Jersey-based telecoms operator JT, as its Chairman.
Graeme was appointed to the newly created role on a two-year term at Teleforum’s conference in June. Teleforum brings together 18 operators from as far apart as Suriname, the Cape Verde Islands and Luxembourg to share experiences and tackle the challenges faced by small operators in the global market.
Graeme said his focus will be to support member organisations and provide a strong voice on the international stage. He added: “There are a number of challenges and technological advances on the immediate horizon, which will have a unique impact on smaller jurisdictions, and this forum allows us to learn from each other, work together to reduce costs and build joint platforms to reduce the impact of subscale operations."
He joined JT Group in 2009 and has almost 30 years of experience in the telecoms industry in various locations. Prior to JT, he served as Chief Commercial Officer Russia for Russian mobile telephone operator MTS.
