Slappie makes marketing appointment

Kim Bougourd_SlappieFormer journalist and PR account manager Kim Bougourd has joined Guernsey-based Dragon’s Den-winning watch company Slappie as its Marketing and Development Manager.

Kim, who joins from local PR consultancy Liquid, will focus on raising the brand's profile through traditional and social media, as well as helping grow its global footprint. 

Slappie featured on the BBC show Dragon’s Den in 2016, when it secured £50,000 investment from Moonpig.com founder Nick Jenkins. In June this year, Guernsey businessman Scott Carre bought the company and began operating it from St Peter Port. 

During her time at Liquid, Kim worked on key Channel Islands accounts. Prior to that, she spent 20 years as a journalist working in radio, television and print media at Island FM, BBC Guernsey, BBC South West and the Guernsey Press.
