Simon Brown speaking at Agile 2013 in Nashville, TNJersey-based software developer Simon Brown is in Nashville, Tennessee this week speaking at the Agile 2013 conference; one of the premier events in the Agile calendar that brings together recognised Agile experts, practitioners, thought-leaders, authors and innovators. This year the conference has over 1,700 attendees from 38 different countries. Simon is speaking about his lightweight "C4" approach to visualising software architecture in a 75 minute session titled, "Simple sketches for diagramming your software architecture". Simon will be illustrating this using the techtribes.je website, the code for which has recently been open sourced and is available for anybody to download from GitHub. Simon commented:

"I'm honoured to have been selected to speak at the Agile 2013 conference, it's one of the largest annual events dedicated to Agile software development. As a software development team, if you want to move fast and be agile, you need good communication. If you want to make sure that everybody is contributing to the same end-goal, again, you need good communication. My talk is about a collection of simple techniques for visualising the architecture of a software system. The goal is to get everybody on a software development team using a common language when they discuss the internals of a software system. It's a simple approach and has made a huge positive impact to the teams that have adopted it."

The Agile 2013 conference is Simon's second trip to the US this year, the first being the SATURN 2013 conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he won the IEEE Software sponsored SATURN 2013 "Architecture in Practice" Presentation Award for his talk about the conflict between software architecture and Agile approaches. Simon has spoken to software development audiences in over 20 countries over the past two years and has clients in most of them.
