The financial services commissions of both Jersey and Guernsey are taking part in World Investor Week this week – a global campaign held by the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) to raise awareness about investor education and protection.
The event, from 2 to 8 October, will highlight the initiatives of securities regulators in these two areas.
IOSCO regulators and members on six continents will provide activities, such as launching investor-focused communications and services, promoting contests to increase awareness of investor education initiatives, organising workshops and conferences, and conducting local/national campaigns in their own jurisdictions.
The GFSC is holding a range of events and activities, including a breakfast highlighting GFSC initiatives in respect of retail investors.
The JFSC is hosting a public talk at its offices on 4 October to help islanders learn more about the regulator’s role, the services available and what the partner agencies can do to help islanders make financial decisions and if things go wrong.
