New chief technical and information officer for SureSure has appointed a new chief technical and information officer as part of a restructure that will strengthen performance in network operations.

Cyrille Joffre, who has 15 years' experience in the telecommunications industry worldwide, will head up a newly merged division which will incorporate planning, operations and maintenance. He will also sit on Sure's executive committee.

‘This appointment is business-critical as it is more important than ever that we focus on making some major investments in network infrastructure to deliver the next generation of high speed voice, data and video services to meet the future needs of our customers. Sure has been looking to streamline its business for the benefit of its customers and through the use of convergent technologies, it is a natural move to put combine these departments into one division,' said Eddie Saints, chief executive of Sure in Guernsey.

‘Cyrille brings with him a wealth of experience, having held senior positions in the telecommunications business both in Europe and the Far East. I am confident that the restructure and Cyrille's appointment will give us a joined up approach internally and help us to deliver exceptional service to our customers.'

Mr Joffre comes to Guernsey after spending three years in a similar position at Cable & Wireless Communications in Monaco, where he was responsible for defining mid-long term technologies roadmap, overseeing operations and controlling network capital and operational expenditure in the Monaco & Islands (M&I) region. Mr Joffre's career has seen him work across the world including time in France, Hong Kong, Monaco, Netherlands, Singapore and Tokyo.

‘After three years working in Monaco, it is a true pleasure to join Sure and support the team on its journey of transformation. I hope that my experience of working in countries across the world will allow me to identify ways in which Sure can continue to deliver the highest level of service to our customers,' said Mr Joffre.

Mr Joffre's appointment is Sure's third high-level appointment this year, all of which have been aimed at strengthening the company's performance in key areas.

In February, Jo Cox was made enterprise sales director and Charlotte Dunsterville recently took up the position of customer experience director.

In addition, Chris Durnell, director of legal/regulatory affairs, finance director Gareth Fooks and Graham Hughes, chief executive of Sure in Jersey, have also strengthened the executive committee.

‘Telecommunications is a fast moving industry and in order to keep ahead, it is of paramount importance that we have the right people leading the business. Sure's executive committee brings together a wealth of experience and expertise which will allow the company to be at the forefront of changes and advancements and ensure that our customers have access to the latest technology,' said Mr Saints.
