Guernsey Finance Chairman Lyndon Trott (pictured) has been appointed as an independent trustee of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association’s (CPA) trust funds.
As Vice President of the States of Guernsey's Policy & Resources Committee, Lyndon Trott is also a States Deputy – and the first States member to hold this role at the CPA.
He will work alongside the CPA's Secretary-General, Stephen Twigg MP, and Treasurer, Mayasian MP Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, for a three-year term.
In a statement to the States, he commented: "This is an honour and privilege for me personally, but in particular for our jurisdiction as it is the first time one of our members has held this office.
"This sends out a very strong message that our jurisdiction is recognised as a globally respected, international financial services centre of excellence."
