David Riley has been appointed to Guernsey-based insurance management and financial advisory group Robus as a Risk Consultant.
David will lead on setting up the first independent longevity swap incorporated cell company (ICC) for the business. Longevity is used as a hedge by life insurance companies to de-risk their policies.
With 24 years’ experience in the Guernsey insurance industry, David has spent the past 17 and a half years with Marsh Management Services Guernsey, most recently as Senior Account Executive and Business Development Manager, Captive Solutions.
His work has included a longevity swap transaction so complex that it involved eight sets of lawyers, using an incorporated cell approach.
His expertise also includes captive insurance companies and insurance-linked securitisation, and he helped set up and run an office in Malta, giving him experience of a Solvency II-compliant onshore domicile.
A qualified chartered accountant, David is also a former Chairman of the Guernsey International Insurance Association.
