Seven individuals from Jersey’s private, public and voluntary sectors were recognised for their leadership qualities and achievements at the 2018 Jersey Director of the Year Awards, organised by IoD Jersey and held at the Hotel de France last Friday.
The full list of winners is:
• Director of the Year for Innovation: Allan Watts, Sleep Well
• Director of the Year for Third Sector: Emelita Robbins, Jersey Hospice Care
• Director of the Year for Public Sector: Andrew Sugden, States of Jersey Police
• Non-Executive Director of the Year: Wendy Dorman
• New/Start-Up Director of the Year: Johnathon Pereira, Seapower Marine
• Director of the Year for CSR: Jamie Racjan, Fungi Delecti
• Chairman’s Award for Excellence in Leadership: Dr Lesley Dickie, Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust
The panel of judges for this year’s awards was chaired by Lesley Harrison (Head of HR and Marketing, Sandpiper) and included Tim Crowley (Managing Director, La Mare Wine Estate), Monique O’Keefe (Co-Founder, Kairos Wealth) and Paul Savery (Managing Director, Barclays).
A total of 25 different senior professionals and directors had been shortlisted for the year’s awards across a new range of categories, designed to celebrate the achievements of individuals and recognise the increasingly diverse attributes needed by the modern leader.
