Five individuals representing the private and voluntary sectors in Jersey have been recognised for their leadership qualities and achievements at the 2017 Jersey Director of the Year Awards, organised by IoD Jersey.
The full list of winners is:
• Director of the Year for a Small Organisation: Charlotte Valeur, Board Apprentice
• Director of the Year for a Medium Organisation: Tim Crowley, La Mare Wine Estates
• Director of the Year for a Large Organisation: Paul Savery, Barclays
• Young Director of the Year: Pippa Davidson, Fairway Group
• Public/Third Sector Director of the Year: Nigel Crocker, The Grace Crocker Family Support Foundation
In addition to these five categories, recognition was given to those who achieved Chartered Director status in 2016:
• Chris Ambler, Jersey Electricity
• Ian Burns, Social Security
• Steve Camm, RBS International
• Louise Follain, Mourant Ozannes
• Andrew Jarrett, Twelve40
• Christopher Lintell, CI Co-operative Society
• Carole Piazza-Pallot, STANLIB Fund Managers
• Louise Read, Channel Islands Competition and Regulatory Authorities
The event was again hosted by writer, broadcaster, former MP and government whip Gyles Brandreth. The judges included Colin Macleod, CEO CI Co-operative Society; Lesley Harrison, Chairman, Prison! Me! No Way!!!; Alex Morel, Managing Director, ALX Training; and Mark Pesco, CEO, First Names Group.
A total of 15 senior professionals and directors had been shortlisted across all categories for the awards, which are designed to celebrate the achievements of individuals and recognise excellence in the business community.
Chris Clark, Chair, IoD Jersey, said: “In the current uncertain and often volatile climate, having strong, able leaders at the helm of an organisation is vital, so it was pleasing to see such a broad cross-section of individuals represented at our Awards this year, both as winners and shortlisted nominees.”
