Jersey Finance announces virtual private wealth conference

Jersey Finance will be holding its annual private wealth conference on Monday 14 December as a virtual event.

The half-day conference, entitled ‘Making a Positive Impact’, will focus on sustainable finance and philanthropy. It will include as guest speakers former Conservative Party leader Lord William Hague and comedian, writer and mental health campaigner Ruby Wax.

The event, which is usually held in London every year, is being run virtually to ensure all delegates can attend as usual, despite Covid-19 limitations. It will be livestreamed via a bespoke platform hosted primarily from Jersey. 

A discussion session on green investments and sustainable finance will be moderated by Dr Emiko Caerlewy-Smith, Founder and CEO of Kit Consulting. Panellists include: 
• Andrew Mitchell, Founder, Equilibrium Futures
• John David, Head of Rathbone Green Bank Investments, Rathbones
• Alison Cambray, Senior Manager, PwC
• Kurt Morriesen, Head of Sustainable Investments in Europe, United Nations.

The second discussion session on the future of philanthropy will be moderated by writer Gwyn Garfield-Bennett. Panellists will include: 
• Richard Joynt, Executive Director, Ocorian
• Sarah Gordon, CEO, Impact Investing Institute
• Darshita Gillies, Founder and CEO, Maanch
• Fergus Drake, Chief Executive Officer, Crown Agents.

In addition, Tessa Clarke, CEO and co-founder of food-sharing app OLIO will participate in a  fireside chat moderated by Rod Christie-Miller, Chief Executive and Partner of Schillings.
