Investor services group IQ-EQ has appointed Alasdair McLaren to the role of Head of Private Wealth, Guernsey.
Formerly SGG Group, IQ-EQ gained a presence in Guernsey in 2018 following its acquisitions of First Names Group and Augentius.
Alasdair had served as a Director within First Names Group from 2014 until its rebranding as IQ-EQ in March this year, leading a team of private wealth practitioners specialising in asset protection and estate structuring for ultra-high-net-worth international families.
With 30 years’ experience in the fiduciary industry, Alasdair has also held director-level positions with Kleinwort Benson, Saffery Champness and Scottish law firm Turcan Connell.
He is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and a qualified member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
He is also a former Chair of STEP’s Guernsey branch, a former STEP Council member for the region and a longstanding committee member of the Guernsey Association of Trustees.
