IoD to launch update of Directors guide

Posted: 11/06/2018

The Jersey branch of the Institute of Directors is hosting a seminar to launch the fifth edition of a publication setting out the rights, powers, duties, responsibilities, risks, liabilities and limitations of being a Director on the island.

The Guidelines for Jersey Directors was last published in 2014. Its purpose is to raise standards of corporate governance, maximise profits for shareholders, minimise losses for creditors, warn Directors of pitfalls, reduce the risk of financial or reputational loss and ensure that Directors receive fair remuneration for their labours and the risks they take.

The latest edition has been updated by Advocate Robert Gardner and Advocate Edward Drummond of Bedell Cristin.

The seminar, at which the two authors will highlight the key changes since the 2014 edition, will be held on Wednesday 20 June at the Radisson Hotel from 8.30am until 10am.

Attendees will receive a copy of the guidelines and the event may count towards one hour of CDP.
