GFSC appoints Special Advisor on Government and Public Affairs

Posted: 12/08/2013

The Guernsey Financial Services Commission has appointed a Special Advisor on Government and Public Affairs.

Former civil servant Dale Holmes will take up the newly-created role at the beginning of September. He will work full time for the Commission, helping it improve its interaction with officials, politicians, the media and representative bodies within the Bailiwick. He will also work internally within the Commission to help embed risk-based supervision processes, particularly internal quality assurance panels.

Dale has extensive experience of the workings of Guernsey government and project management, having held key roles at the States of Guernsey, latterly providing advice to the Treasury and Resources Board on policy issues, major projects, financial and risk reporting and business planning. While the post is a new one, it will not incur any additional cost to the Commission as two employees who resigned earlier this year have not been replaced.

William Mason, Director General of the Commission, said: “Dale's experience and network will make him invaluable in improving the Commission's dialogue with its key stakeholder groups.”
