Funds edition of Businesslife now online!

Posted: 23/10/2018

BL59 coverIssue 59 of Businesslife – the annual funds edition – is now available online.

Despite a background of global political and economic uncertainty, and the continued pressure of increasing regulation, our review of the past 12 months for the funds industries in Guernsey and Jersey reveals a positive picture.

The need to prove substance is just one area that the islands are having to contend with – but as has happened in the past, it’s an area where they are leading the way.

This issue’s lead interview is with Michael Collins, CEO at Invest Europe. He gives his view on the lay of the land for funds across the continent and the role that the Channel Islands have to play.

Our cover feature this time around takes a look at diversity on funds boards. Much has been written about diversity around gender and ethnicity when it comes to running a business – but it appears that equal attention has to be paid to having the right mix of skills.

Nick Kirby, Editor-in-Chief of Businesslife, says: “Some people might argue that not much changes in the funds industry from one year to the next – but as this edition proves, there’s been a lot going on. And it seems like the Channel Islands are in a very strong position right now.”

Other features in this issue include:
• The rise of Management Companies and the Manager of Managed Entities
• Mega-deals that have involved the Channel Islands
• Jersey and its approach to initial coin offerings
• Funds training and whether it can help with a skills shortage
• How funds need to get to grips with technology
• Where Guernsey and Jersey might go next with funds
• And much more…
