The Citywealth International Financial Centre (IFC) Awards took place last night at the Grange City Hotel in London, and brought together 200 of the world's top wealth advisers and private client experts.
The awards were established to highlight the excellence of the advisers and managers in the private wealth sector within the major international financial centres.
Far from being a sober affair, it was a very entertaining evening, in no small part thanks to the jokes being cracked by the TV presenter, Mark Durden-Smith, the host for the event.
Gold and silver awards in 24 categories were announced – the winners having been judged by an international panel of highly respected practitioners from all sectors and with experience of working with advisers in all the jurisdictions covered.
A small 'misunderstanding' at the beginning saw the representative of the Isle of Man collecting the bronze award for the IFC of the Year, but thinking that his jurisdiction had won the category.
That prestigious title was actually scooped, for the fourth year running, by Jersey, with the award collected by Richard Corrigan, Deputy CEO of Jersey Finance (pictured centre, with Mark Durden-Smith and Citywealth CEO Karen Jones).
