Barclays Private Bank names new CEO

Jean-Christophe Gerard_aug20Barclays has appointed Jean-Christophe Gerard as CEO of Barclays Private Bank, subject to regulatory approval.

Although primarily based in the UK, Jean-Christophe will now oversee all Private Bank activity, which includes the Crown Dependencies.
 
He joined Barclays in 2017, initially leading investments for Barclays Private Bank, and has almost 30 years of experience in private banking, asset management and investment banking. 

His previous roles at Barclays include Head of Private Bank Europe, Monaco and Switzerland, and CEO of Barclays Monaco.

Earlier in his career, Jean-Christophe spent more than 24 years with HSBC, latterly as Global Head of Investment for HSBC Private Bank. Prior to this he held roles in Paris, including auditing at KPMG France.
