Aurigny Airlines has announced that Nico Bezuidenhout (pictured), the former Chief Executive of Mango Airlines – a subsidiary of South African Airways – is to take over as the Guernsey airline's Chief Executive this year.
Nico will take over from Mark Darby, who is retiring having led the airline since 2013 but will continue in an advisory role until his contract ends in 2021.
As well as leading Mango Airlines, Nico has also served as Interim CEO of South African Airways and CEO of London-listed airline Fastjet.
In another senior move at Aurigny, Kevin George is to take over as Chairman at the beginning of October, when Andrew Haining steps down after more than four years in post.
Kevin, a former MD of Monarch Airlines, currently serves on the boards of several maritime organisations.
