Senior appointments at Carey Olsen

Carey Olsen has announced a number of senior promotions across the group. Two promotions within the group's employment team including Huw Thomas who has been promoted to Of Counsel in the Jersey office and Rachel Richardson who has been promoted to Senior Associate in Guernsey.
Oliver Quarmby, previously an associate in Guernsey's Corporate and Finance Group, is joining Carey Olsen's London office as a Senior Associate. In the Guernsey Property team, John Le Tissier has been promoted to Senior Associate.

Huw Thomas has been advising on employment issues, data protection and information management for over 10 years in both the UK and Jersey and is recognised by Chambers Europe as one of the leading employment lawyers in Jersey. He has broad experience of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters with a particular emphasis on the finance industry in both Jersey and Guernsey. He also specialises in mediation and is a Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) accredited mediator.

A specialist employment lawyer within the litigation team, Rachel Richardson joined Carey Olsen ten years ago and acts as legal counsel for many local businesses and organisations in respect of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters. Her promotion comes just one month after she completed a post-graduate Master of Laws in Employment Law. She is the only employment lawyer in Guernsey to hold this qualification.

Oliver Quarmby is a specialist funds lawyer with experience in advising clients on a wide range of corporate matters, including equity fundraisings, flotations, hedge funds and closed-end investment funds. He is relocating to the group's London office where he joins its London-based Corporate and Finance team to further promote Carey Olsen's multi-jurisdictional corporate finance and funds offering.

John Le Tissier is an Advocate of the Royal Court of Guernsey and has been a member of Carey Olsen's property team for over 30 years He has considerable expertise in dealing with all types of Guernsey property matters with an emphasis on complex commercial property transactions.
