PwC Channel Islands has announced that six staff across its Guernsey and Jersey offices have been promoted to Senior Manager level, as it looks to bolster its pan-Island audit, assurance, advisory and marketing capabilities.

The four promotees in Jersey and two in Guernsey have all received recognition for their team management skills, having built strong relationships with their clients and developed in-depth industry knowledge.

In Jersey, three of those promoted to Senior Manager are in the Audit and Assurance teams. Metesh Vara has a focus on private equity, SPVs and local government, and joined the Jersey office after graduating from Loughborough University in 2005, gaining ACA qualification in 2007. Allan Reid recently undertook a secondment to PwC United Kingdom, working in London. Working predominantly in real estate and private equity funds, Allan graduated from the University of Glasgow, joining PwC United Kingdom's Glasgow office in 2004 and moving to the Channel Island's firm in Jersey in 2007. Anil Kumar works largely in banking, real estate, debt, shipping and fund of hedge funds. Having graduated from Karachi University in 2002, Anil started at Deloitte Karachi the same year, joining PwC Channel Islands in 2006.

In addition, Marie Vibert becomes Senior Marketing Manager in Jersey, heading up a pan-Channel Islands team with a range of marketing and business development responsibilities. Having joined PwC from Jersey Trust Company in 2006, she is the firm's Sustainability and Environmental Officer and sits on the Jersey Chamber of Commerce's Sustainable Business Forum. She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a graduate of the University of Humberside.

In Guernsey, Tony Corbin becomes a Senior Manager in the Assurance and Advisory business, focusing on private equity, litigation funding, private banking, internal audit and third-party controls reporting. Educated in Guernsey, Tony joined PwC in 2005 from the University of Reading and is ACA qualified. Stephanie Coxon has been made a Senior Manager in the Guernsey Audit and Assurance team, and works predominantly in listings, third-party controls reporting, and private equity, real estate, debt and hedge funds. Part of PwC's recruitment team, Stephanie joined PwC in 2005. Both Tony and Stephanie undertook a two-year secondment to PwC Australia's Sydney office after qualifying in 2008.

Steve Le Page, Senior Partner, PwC Channel Islands, said:

“It's a pleasure to recognise and reward the abilities, achievements and future potential of our people and give them an opportunity to progress in their careers. With global market conditions proving persistently challenging, we must work hard in the Channel Islands to help keep the financial services offering competitive, continue to share our expertise quickly and effectively, and support clients in meeting the raft of regulatory and operational challenges they face. Maintaining our focus on strengthening our team's capabilities with rising talent is vital to our value proposition.”
