Ogier has provided Guernsey legal advice to global finance and asset management firm Burford Capital on the private offering of $275m aggregate principal amount of 9.250% senior notes due 2031 by its wholly owned subsidiary, Burford Capital Global Finance LLC.
The additional notes are guaranteed on a senior unsecured basis by Burford Capital as well as Burford Capital Finance LLC and Burford Capital PLC, both indirect, wholly owned subsidiaries of Burford Capital.
Partner Bryon Rees led the Ogier team, which included Partner Richard Sharp and Managing Associate Michelle Watson Bunn, working with lead counsel in the US Cravath, Swaine and Moore, as well as White & Case for the initial purchasers.
Burford Capital, which focuses on litigation finance and risk management, asset recovery and a wide range of legal finance and advisory activities, is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange.
