Maples and Calder, the Maples Group's law firm, has appointed Nick Evans, a Senior Partner with the firm, as Head of Office in Jersey.
Nick succeeds Chris Byrne, who returns to practice as a Corporate and Finance Partner, having served a three-year term as Jersey Office Managing Partner.
Nick, an experienced corporate and funds and investment management lawyer, has played a central role in the launch of the full-service Jersey law firm and has been involved in its management ever since.
He has been with the Maples Group for more than 20 years and relocates to Jersey from the London office, where he most recently served as a Corporate Partner. Prior to that, Nick spent a number of years in the group's Cayman Islands office.
Nick's Cayman Islands expertise adds to the group's legal offering in Jersey and supports the high volume of multi-jurisdictional and cross-border transactions that the Jersey team manages.
He has advised many large financial institutions, investment managers, investors and their onshore counsel on the structuring, formation and operation of a wide range of investment fund structures.
In addition to his leadership duties in Jersey, Nick will retain his Cayman Islands Corporate and Investment Funds practice.
