The Guernsey Branch of the Institute of Directors will focus its 2024 Mid-Term event on the intersection of artificial intelligence and corporate governance.
The event – AI in the Boardroom: Navigating a New Frontier in Governance – will take place on Wednesday 13 March from 7:45am-10am at St Pierre Park.
Delegates will hear from Bob Semple (pictured), a consultant at the Corporate Governance Institute, who will be at the event in person, and Dr Roger Barker, IoD Director of Policy and Corporate Governance, who will join online.
The speakers will explore AI technologies' ethical, legal and governance challenges. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of AI's potential impact on business models and, following the presentations, they will have a chance to ask questions.
Bob Semple worked at PwC for more than 35 years, most recently as a Partner responsible for governance and risk management services. He is now a Director and an independent corporate governance consultant.
Dr Roger Barker has worked across Europe in banking, most recently specialising in governance.
He has taught politics at Merton College Oxford and has also served as a UK member of the European Economic and Social Committee in Brussels.
