Joanne Peacegood has joined Guernsey Electricity’s board as a Non-Executive Director (NED).
The NED role involves providing independent oversight of running the business, including governance, business performance and strategic objectives. Working with the executive management team, Joanne will support the company in developing Guernsey Electricity’s strategy.
Bringing more than 20 years’ business experience to the role, Joanne has spent 20 years with PwC in Guernsey and London, most recently as Assurance Director. She also spent a year with PwC in Canada.
Joanne sits on the board of listed solar energy company NextEnergy, which owns around 100 solar farms in the UK. She also holds NED roles at Longview Partners (Guernsey), Cairngorm Capital Partners, Alpha Management and Danske Invest.
In addition, Joanne has served seven years on the committee of the Guernsey Investment & Funds Association, which she currently chairs.
She commented: "Managing risk will be key for the board as the energy market is dynamic in nature, but Guernsey Electricity is well placed to navigate the challenges it faces. I understand the energy sector and look forward to supporting the Guernsey Electricity team and wider community."
