ESI Monitor commits to net zero pledge

Posted: 23/04/2021

Guernsey-based environmental champion ESI Monitor has committed to becoming carbon-neutral and pledged to bring its carbon emissions to net zero by the end of 2021.

This means a commitment has been made to reduce the amount of carbon produced by ESI as far as possible, then to offset that which cannot be avoided.

As part of the Paris Agreement signed in 2016, many countries around the world have committed to becoming carbon-neutral between 2030 to 2050, with companies also signing up to the pledge.

ESI Managing Director Marc Laine commented: “Now more than ever it’s vital for people, businesses and even countries to show their commitment to becoming carbon-neutral.

"Setting an ambitious goal such as ours is critical to achieving a carbon-neutral world by 2050 and limit global warming to well below 2°C – we must take action now.”

ESI has created an area on its website dedicated to showcasing Channel Islands businesses that have signed up to the net zero pledge. To find out more click here

Deloitte has become the first organisation to be highlighted in this net zero register, pledging its commitment to achieving net zero emissions.
