The Jersey Financial Services Commission has appointed Claire Bowes to the role of Commissioner on its board.
Claire, who will be sworn in by the Royal Court on 2 July for a five-year term, will be based in Jersey, where she has served as an Employment Tribunal Member for the past six months.
She is a global HR leader with extensive experience managing transformational cultural and organisation change in financial service sector firms.
Earlier in her career, Claire spent more than 13 years with UBS, latterly as Managing Director of Investment Banking, based in London. She went on to hold MD roles at Barclays and also became a Trustee in Barclays' Executive Schemes Trust.
Her appointment means the JFSC board now has a gender balance of Commissioners.
JFSC Chair Mark Hoban commented: “Like most businesses in Jersey, the organisation has gone through a period of change in the past year. Claire will take a pivotal role in helping us drive forward our people strategy, whilst helping us define and shape our culture”.
