Offshore law firm Carey Olsen has appointed litigation and insolvency lawyer Richard Brown as a Partner in its London office.
Richard joins from the London office of another offshore law firm, Harneys, where he has served as Counsel for just over a year. He previously worked for Carey Olsen in Jersey between 2015 and 2017 as a Senior Associate.
Richard's practice focuses on international insolvency, fraud and asset recovery, as well as contentious trust matters. Much of his work relates to individuals and businesses in Ukraine, Russia and other CIS countries.
He has a wealth of experience of pre-action measures such as freezing injunctions and third-party disclosure applications, as well as conducting cases through to trial and enforcement.
A solicitor by background, Richard has also represented clients as an Advocate in matters before the BVI Commercial Court and the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal. Prior to moving offshore in 2013, Richard practised for eight years at Hogan Lovells in London.
