Brooks Macdonald International has promoted Lindsay Bateman to the role of Head of Business Development, based in Jersey.
Lindsay, who joined the firm in 2014, has previously overseen the business development strategy in Africa, with a focus on southern and eastern Africa.
In his new role, he will assume added responsibility for growing new and existing business across the firm’s primary target markets, including Europe and the Middle East, as well as Africa.
A finance professional with more than 35 years’ experience in financial services, Lindsay has an extensive track record of developing relationships with institutions, professional advisers and private clients.
In his earlier career, he spent almost 14 years with Standard Bank, initially in a management role in South Africa, before moving to Jersey in 2000 as Managing Director of Private Client Services.
He went on to join Ermitage Group as Executive Director, Business Development, and then UPB as a Director and Senior Private Banker.
Lindsay is a Certified Associate of the Institute of Bankers in South Africa and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
He is also approved as a Key Individual and Representative by the South African Financial Sector Conduct Authority.
