Babbé makes changes to senior team

Andrew Laws_Babbe_jun21As a result of management changes following a year of global uncertainty, Babbé has moved Managing Partner Andrew Laws (pictured) to a new role as Senior Partner, while Partner Nick Robison becomes Managing Partner.

Andrew has overseen the management of Babbé’s relationships with clients and staff for 18 years. But following the demands of the past 12 months, the firm has divided this role into two: one that focuses on Babbé’s relationships with clients and other intermediaries; one that focuses on its internal relationships and the management of the firm’s day-to-day operations.

As Senior Partner, Andrew will reduce his management commitments and focus on Babbé’s client relationships and growing the private client and trust team.

Meanwhile, Nick, who is joint head of the firm's dispute resolution team alongside Todd McGuffin, moves into the new management role.

He has been with Babbé for more than 11 years and has extensive experience in cross-border disputes, trust administration proceedings and regulatory matters. Nick previously practised commercial litigation in Sydney and London.

Among other moves in the firm, Advocate and Senior Associate Rob Fullman has been promoted to Counsel, while Associate Kirthi Kalyan has been promoted to Managing Associate.

Rob, who has been with the firm for many years, specialises in technical areas of Guernsey-focused litigation.

Kirthi joined the firm two years ago, relocating from South Africa, where she worked for Norton Rose Fulbright and ENSafrica.
