Richard Holden joins Carey Olsen as Counsel

Richard HoldenCarey Olsen continues to expand its litigation practice with the appointment of Richard Holden as Counsel – bringing the number of lawyers in the department to 53 across the group.

Richard advises on a broad range of litigation matters including complex trust, contractual and commercial disputes, shareholder, investor and funds actions, cross-border and international litigation, injunctions and other applications.

He also acts in matters regarding property and development, energy and resources and insurance, including directors and officers (D&O) and professional indemnity. Notable recent cases have included acting on Jersey's first anti-money laundering non-disclosure prosecution and Jersey’s first substantive judgment on dishonestly assisting breach of trust.

After beginning his legal career at the London bar, Richard worked for law firms in New Zealand and London before relocating to Jersey.

Alongside his legal practice, Richard has held a number of teaching and professional posts including with Jersey's Institute of Law, Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, and the English Bar Standards Board.
