Retail Jobs Saved in Jersey

Posted: 11/02/2013

Richard Clews, Managing Director of the former Collections Group today announced that a new company has been formed to take forward most of the original business in Jersey.

Commenting on the news, Richard Clews said, “I fully appreciate that this has been a difficult time for everyone involved, not least for employees of the business who have endured uncertainty and concern for the future”.

“Forming the new company has been a complex process and has only been achieved with the full support and assistance of de Gruchy & Voisins. We will shortly have the units fully restocked and we look forward to welcoming back the loyal customer base we have enjoyed for so many years. We are particularly delighted to now have the opportunity to re-employ a large number of our talented and dedicated staff”.

Neville Moore, Managing Director of de Gruchy said, “It is very important in these challenging economic times that local businesses are able to work together to not only save vital jobs but to also ensure that St Helier remains a vibrant trading location for both locals and visitors”.

On behalf of Voisins, Gerald Voisin commented “We are delighted to continue offering customers their favourite ranges by top designers on our first floor”.

The new company will trade menswear, nursery and childrenswear in de Gruchy and fashions within Voisins and Quiksilver. Freedom Surf Shop at Quennevais will also recommence trading as Freedom Surf & SDS.
