Launch of risk and regulatory academy

Collas Crill
Collas Crill has launched a Risk and Regulatory Academy, a series of five interactive training sessions throughout 2013.

Delivered in conjunction with Comsure, a leading provider of compliance services in the Channel Islands, the series has been designed to meet the growing demand for up-to-the-minute training and information in the risk and regulatory space.

Collas Crill risk and regulatory expert Michael Adkins said: "It won't come as a surprise to anyone that regulatory interactions and interventions have taken on a whole new character, post-financial crisis.

"No longer is it enough to just know the rules; leading financial services businesses try to stay two steps ahead - to do this they have to get into the mindset of the regulator and take proactive steps to make sure they can deal with the issues that really matter, saving time and money for getting on with business."

The series of breakfast seminars will be of interest to a wide range of professionals tackling risk and regulatory issues, as well as anyone with an eye on Guernsey's regulatory landscape, including Directors, CEOs, finance officers, administrators, MLROs, Risk Officers and NEDs.

Collas Crill's expert speakers have considerable experience dealing with regulators, advising clients on contentious and non-contentious regulatory issues, and delivering training to clients on their approach to regulation.

They will be joined by Comsure's Mathew Beale, whose background includes a senior compliance role at the Jersey Financial Services Commission and lecturing on the International Compliance Association's training programmes. In his professional compliance capacity Mathew has acted in the Channel Islands, the UK, Mauritius and the Seychelles.

The breakfast seminars in this series are:

5 March 2013: Seminar 1 - Your Compliance Function
14 May 2013: Seminar 2 - Suspicious Minds
2 July 2013: Seminar 3 - Whose Licence Is It Anyway?
1 October 2013: Seminar 4 - Justice, Naturally
12 November 2013: Seminar 5 - Your Questions Answered
