Guernsey nominates Julian Winser as new Commissioner

JulianWinser_Apr19Guernsey's Policy & Resources Committee and the Guernsey Financial Services Commission have nominated Julian Winser (pictured) as a Commissioner for a three-year term from 1 June, and as the Commission's next Chairman from 31 December.

As GFSC Chairman, Julian will succeed Cees Schrauwers, who retires on 30 December. 

After serving in the military, Julian spent 10 years at Baring Asset Management in operations and investment management, and then 23 years at Schroders, working in the investment market on behalf of private clients and institutions. 

Between 2005 and 2020, he was Chief Executive Officer of Schroders' offshore private client business based in Guernsey, responsible for the Channel Islands, Gibraltar, Malta and Bermuda. He was also part of the team managing Cazenove Capital Worldwide.

The Policy & Resources Committee will place Julian's nomination before the States at their May meeting.
