Guernsey Lawyer David Jones Admitted as Advocate

David Jones-Carey OlsenCarey Olsen senior associate, David Jones (pictured), has been admitted as an advocate of the Royal Court of Guernsey and called to the Guernsey Bar.

Advocate Jones provides specialist advice in relation to business restructuring and insolvency in contentious, non-contentious and multi-jurisdictional matters.

Advocate Jones' varied contentious insolvency experience includes advising clients subject to claims by insolvency office holders appointed as a result of the collapse of the Madoff Ponzi Scheme. He has acted in numerous applications for urgent, injunctive relief and in relation to cross-border issues.

Carey Olsen Guernsey managing partner, John Greenfield, said: “David's qualification as an advocate further demonstrates the continued growth and development of our dispute resolution, litigation and restructuring and insolvency areas of expertise as well as Carey Olsen's continued focus on the training and development of our lawyers.”

Advocate Jones studied for his law degree at the University of Leicester and worked at Howes Percival as an associate for over seven years where he specialised in corporate insolvency, restructuring and complex civil fraud before joining Carey Olsen in April 2010.

He is a member of the Insolvency Lawyers Associations, R3 and INSOL and has delivered seminars for both professional organisations and clients. Advocate Jones also sits on the working group tasked with updating and revising Guernsey's insolvency laws.
