Digital Jersey launches TechWeek

Jersey TechWeek 2020Digital Jersey has announced details of this year's Jersey TechWeek, which will be delivered as a week-long online video feed, broadcast to a global audience.

Held between 16 and 23 October, the event will showcase the island's digital response to the coronavirus pandemic and highlight the latest trends and developments in the sector. 

Speakers will include:
• David Birch, Director, Consult Hyperion 
• Nick Ogden, Founder and CEO, RTGS
• Matt Gamser, CEO, SME Finance Forum (managed by the International Finance Corporation, part of the World Bank)
• Christian Sarafidis, Chief Business Development Officer, Worldwide Financial Services, Microsoft
• Ian Gorst, Jersey Minister for External Relations 
• Olenka Apperley, Adviser, Jersey Financial Services Commission
• Andrew Mitchell, health and technology specialist

The twice-daily sessions will begin with a Digital Design Challenge on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 October. Then from Monday 19 to Friday 23 October, there will be one morning and one afternoon session each day, culminating in the launch of the Jersey TechAwards on the Friday afternoon.

Digital Jersey CEO Tony Moretta said: “We were determined the show would go on in 2020, regardless of how Covid has forced us all to rethink the way we work. We know many people are a bit ‘webinared out’, but we will be bringing our week to life with punchy sessions. And there’s no limit on who can look in.”
