Collas Crill's Funds team are leading the first ever class of the new GIFA academy.

The Guernsey Investment Funds Association event features presentations by Collas Crill funds specialists Paul Wilkes and Wayne Atkinson.

In "Funds Structures Explained", Paul and Wayne kick off a series of ten lectures that will cover the fund sector, fund administration, alternative investments, FX and treasury, the regulator, AML, accounting, corporate governance and the future of the fund sector.

Wayne Atkinson said: "I'm delighted to be able to assist with the GIFA academy; it's a great project and one that will help build the future of our financial services industry.

"Collas Crill is a staunch supporter of professional development in the Channel Islands since we firmly believe that the islands' competitiveness and sustainability depends on the continuing education and development of their workforce."

The aim of the GIFA Academy is to provide informative and educational presentations for staff at a range of levels in the Guernsey finance industry.

The first series of lunchtime presentations provides a broad overview of the fund industry. The events will count towards ongoing professional development within GIFA member firms.

The first GIFA Academy event takes place on Wednesday 19 September 2012 at St James in St Peter Port.
