Collas Crill has appointed Elena Moran as a group partner in its Jersey commercial dispute resolution team. An experienced commercial litigator who focuses on trust and commercial litigation, with a specialism in employment and media law, Elena will join the firm at the end of April. Collas Crill senior partner Nuno Santos Costa said: "We are delighted to welcome Elena to our team. Elena brings first class technical skills and a wealth of knowledge in commercial dispute resolution. "She has significant experience in providing pan Channel Island legal advice, which is key to Collas Crill's services and, as the current chair of the Jersey Community Relations Trust, Elena is known for bringing a different perspective. "On a sad note for the firm, however, our partner Kathryn Purkis is returning to the UK for family reasons at the end of June. She is highly regarded for her legal abilities and leadership skills and last year was recognised in the IFC Top 100 Power Women list. "As managing partner of Crill Canavan, Kathryn was instrumental in making our merger happen three years ago. She has been a driving force at Collas Crill for many years, as well as providing exceptional technical skills and client service in a wide-ranging heavyweight commercial litigation practice. "I will personally miss her loyalty, her integrity and friendship, but wish her every success in her new life in the UK." Kathryn said: "This decision has been an exceptionally difficult one to make. I love the firm and the Island, have found the practice of law here to be extremely stimulating, and have made many friends whom I am determined not to lose. I will make sure that my path crosses here again, one way or another!"
