Carey Olsen has appointed Alex Hall Taylor as Partner and Head of its British Virgin Islands (BVI) dispute resolution and litigation practice.
Alex takes over from Ben Mays, who after more than five years in the role – having led Carey Olsen's recovery in the BVI following Hurricane Irma – has decided to retire.
Formerly a barrister at London Chambers 4 New Square, Alex specialises in international commercial litigation, insolvency and dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation.
He has extensive case management, interlocutory, trial and appellate advocacy experience, including before the Privy Council.
Prior to joining Carey Olsen, Alex served as Dispute Resolution and Insolvency Partner jointly leading the BVI team at Maples and Calder. He moved to the BVI in 2018.
