Carey Olsen has retained its position as the leading offshore legal adviser to London Stock Market (LSE) clients, including those in the FTSE 100, according to the Corporate Advisers Rankings Guide (Q1 2013) published by Adviser Rankings Limited.

Carey Olsen is also now the only multi-jurisdictional offshore law firm to feature in all categories of the guide: FTSE 100, FTSE 250, Small Cap/Fledgling, AIM and total number of Stock Market clients.

The firm has maintained its position in the top five law firms advising LSE-listed companies and is the only offshore law firm to be ranked in the top 10 for the total number of FTSE 100 clients alongside UK and international law firms.

Formerly known as the Morningstar All-Market Rankings Guide, the report shows that Carey Olsen has also retained its position in the top 20 for the total number of FTSE 250 clients it advises.

Carey Olsen is also the only offshore law firm ranked in the top 10 firms advising AIM clients where it is listed in third position overall. The report highlights that Carey Olsen, ranked alongside UK and international law firms, is “out in front in terms of aggregate market-cap” for this category in particular.

Carey Olsen has also moved up two places into the top 10 legal advisers to FTSE Small Cap/Fledgling clients and is the only offshore law firm to be listed in the top 10.

Graham Hall (pictured), senior partner, Carey Olsen, said: “The results consolidate Carey Olsen's position as the number one multi-jurisdictional offshore law firm advising LSE clients and are testament to the talent and hard work of our corporate team."

The Corporate Advisers Rankings Guide lists institutional advisers and their quoted clients. Companies are drawn from UK and Channel Island-domiciled companies, with equity shares fully listed on the LSE, and UK companies with equity shares that are listed on AIM. The information contained within the report is drawn from a variety of LSE sources together with updates made by the advisers themselves with authorisation from clients.

Carey Olsen's corporate group has recently played a significant role advising on a number of high-profile Main Market listings. In November 2012, the firm advised the Battle Against Cancer Investment Trust (BACIT Limited) on its establishment as a Guernsey registered closed-ended investment company and its flotation which raised £270 million. The funds raised will be invested in long-only funds, hedge funds and private equity funds - some of which are not readily accessible to the investor community. Carey Olsen also acted for ICG-Longbow Senior Secured UK Property Debt Investments Limited on the first London-listed fund Initial Public Offering (IPO) of 2013 which raised over £104 million. The company was admitted to the premium listing segment of the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to trading on the London Stock Exchange's main market for listed securities.
