Ashburton Investments, the investment management arm of the FirstRand Group, has appointed Robert Lea (pictured) as Head of Global Equity Research, leading the firm’s newly created global equity research team in Jersey.
Jonathan Aldrich-Blake is moving to the join him from his current role as Ashburton's Investment Manager.
Ashburton’s equity fund range – the Global Leaders Equity Fund and specialist equity range including the India, Energy and Chindia funds – are all managed from Jersey.
Robert previously served as a global equity research strategist at UBS. He spent eight years working in Asia and a period managing a pan-Asian equities portfolio at UBS’s Fundamental Investment Group in Hong Kong.
