Our client is a leading global law firm with an appetite for growth and developing cutting edge, innovative solutions for its clients.
This is a senior role within the business and reports to Director on the Strategy Board.
The role requires a mixture of organisational skills, an understanding of the operational requirements involved in a professional practice and a leadership approach to identifying initiatives to meet the business requirements combined with a can-do, hands-on approach.
A high level of people skill is required and the leadership and management abilities to motivate and develop the team (5 at present). Also, an enquiring mind and the ability to balance the need for change with a pragmatic sense of business management. IT needs to provide “Service“.
Ideal candidate will hold relevant professional qualification and experience and have demonstrable experience of working in and successfully managing an IT business sector, or hands on experience heading up an IT business service area/s.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Knowledge of the operational, physical and material needs of business unit/s.
Strong people management skills and the ability to work with managers and team to develop and attain the highest level of skills.
An appreciation of the needs and working practices of a professional office environment, making things happen without undue burden on Partners, managers and users.
A self starter who has the energy and enthusiasm to continually seek better ways of doing things, managing the business area and motivating others to achieve excellent performance and cost effectiveness.
Strong project management skills and the drive to ensure that initiatives are completed on time, without errors.
A robust approach that can make things happen together with the ability to achieve change, engaging with stakeholders and without alienating managers/staff/users.
Creativity, sensitivity and collaboration in approach to identifying change with the ability to analyse issues and to solve problems.
Commercial acumen to understand what the business ‘does and does not need’ to make it effective and efficient.
The ability to work as part of a team in routine and non routine management issues.
